Dear Educational Technology Faculty,

     In my educational journey I have been given many opportunities to fulfill many of my dreams. I started my bachelor’s degree after high school and was able to complete just 4 semesters. I put my dreams on hold as I started a family and dedicated my time and efforts in raising three wonderful children. In the fall of 1998 I had the opportunity to go back to college with a golf scholarship at UTB. I took this as a sign I could continue a dream I had to finish college. I graduated in May 2003 with a Bachelor in Business Management and a teaching certificate in Business education by June 2003. My dream of a college degree came true and a position at Los Fresnos High School teaching business courses made it that much better. My family was very proud of me but after teaching at the high school I realized how great it would be to have a Master’s degree. As a career technology teacher I would always encourage my students and children to keep learning something new. I realized educational technology was a degree that suited me the best.

     In the summer of 2011 I applied and was accepted in the MSTTPA program that would get me one step closer in my dream of a Masters in Educational Technology. This program gave me the opportunity I wanted to take classes that would enhance my current teaching position at Los Fresnos United. As a technology teacher I implemented many of the Web 2.0 tools I learned in each of the classes I was taking in my Masters courses. Each class gave me the understanding about how theory and research in technology would improve students learning in the classroom. This information would also prove me available ways to instruct my colleges and students on how to integrate technology in learning. Many of the websites and information I learned about these past two years I have used in my classroom. Besides using this information in my classroom I have given several professional development courses in my school district on how to integrate technology in lessons for student achievement.

     As I have come to the end of the MSTTPA program, I am grateful for all the instructors and staff who have contributed to me being successful in completing my Masters in Educational Technology and passing the MTT certification test. Another dream has come true for me and I know this knowledge will be used to help young student’s realize that education is a key to success.
